Leticia Gonzales

Leticia Gonzales (she / they) lives in santa fe, and is honored to weave in the Rio Grande and Chimayo traditions. she is apprenticed to Carlos Trujillo, a seventh generation weaver. In offering weaving workshops to students in Seed & Bloom’s program, leticia hopes to facilitate ongoing conversations around art as process, mindfulness, the deep relationship between function and beauty, and the therapeutic quality of making. inspired by the ubiquity of hand crafting in cultures around the world, sculptural and neolithic weaving techniques learned from Ann Coddington at Penland School of Craft (NC), and time spent with Seed and Bloom students in the classroom and the kitchen during culinary classes, leticia is hopeful that art, craft, food, and fiber can help students nurture a sense of connectedness with their environment and peers through creative action.
